The Lake Trilogy, known as "Jezero" in its original Slovenian, is a crime drama series based on the novels of Tadej Golob. It is in many ways Slovenia’s Alpine answer to the Nordic Noir craze: a cinematic police procedural in a scenic, winter landscape with a dark and troubled protagonist. The series follows detective Taras Birsa as he investigates murders and explores themes of small-town life and the clash between provincial and urban worlds. With beautiful cinematography and stunning landscapes, The Lake Trilogy is a gripping slow-burn procedural with plenty of twists and a compelling protagonist.
